Aassociate professor of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, born in 1963.

Aassociate professor Hu Qian-Wu Graduated with a bachelor in the department of materials science and engineering of Huazhong university of science and technology in 1985, and graduated with a master in the department of materials forming and control engineering of the Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 1994. He researched on the projects of “To improve the corrosion resistance of the magnesium-based metal matrix composite by high-power laser surface engineering” and “Laser surface amorphization research” at Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 1999.

QW‘s research interests are mainly in the area of laser material processing and laser advanced manufacturing technology, including laser hybrid processing, high power laser surface engineering and laser micro-fabrication. He took charge of two national 863 projects; and finished three science and technology projects, such as the critical project, the support programme project and the key project, which financially aided by the science and technology ministry or other ministerial level department respectively; a number of his achievements in scientific research has been successfully applied. He obtained more than 20 patents of inventions. Two times of the first prize and one time of the second prize of Hubei provincial science and technology progress award were awarded to him.
